We invite you to follow the official opening of MIPRO 2026 live on Wednesday, May 27, starting at 10:00.

We especially highlight the plenary session, which begins with opening addresses and the awarding of the annual MIPRO ICT award "Tesla's Beacon of Knowledge".

As part of the opening ceremony, we highlight:

In the second part of the opening ceremony, the Economic AI and HPC Forum will be held as the central event of the convention. The forum is dedicated to accelerating the application of artificial intelligence in the economy by connecting the AI Factory initiative and the European HPC infrastructure.

The forum is jointly organized by MIPRO and CroAI (Croatian AI Association), and will bring together leading experts from academia and industry, technology leaders and decision-makers, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and concrete experiences of applying AI solutions in business. Among the prominent participants we highlight the CEO of EuroHPC JU Anders Dam Jensen, as well as other leading European experts and representatives of AI Factory initiatives.

During the conference, a poster exhibition of AI infrastructure (AI Factories, AI Antennas) will be organized, as well as a traditional exhibition of equipment, services and technological solutions.

How can artificial intelligence be transformed into a measurable and profitable business outcome? Learn more at the Business AI & HPC Forum – STEP-AI, a forum for the future taking place in the afternoon session at 15:00 in the same hall.

Find out more about all this with your presence (physical or virtual).

How can artificial intelligence be turned into a measurable and profitable business outcome?

Economic AI and HPC Forum (STEP-AI)

Artificial (Anorganic) Intelligence (AI) is no longer a question of the future – it is already transforming the way companies operate, make decisions, and gain competitive advantage. The key question is no longer whether to use AI, but how to implement it effectively, scalably, and profitably.

Pradeeban Kathiravelu - invited lecture at SSE

Pradeeban Kathiravelu, an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), USA, will give an invited lecture at the SSE. He is currently a visiting researcher at the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula within the project Human-Centered System Design for Equitable and Sustainable Digital Societies (EQUISYS).

The circumpolar north, which includes Arctic regions such as Alaska, Canada, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, and Sweden, faces major challenges due to extreme climate conditions, remoteness, and historically limited internet access, although LEO satellite networks like Starlink are improving connectivity. These developments open new possibilities for distributed computing, especially in critical areas such as telehealth, where remote communities can access medical care despite distance and high network latency. They also support climate research, particularly the monitoring and prediction of Arctic sea ice extent and coastal erosion, which is essential for planning adaptation and relocation strategies in the face of climate change.

Goran Vojković - invited lecturer at the ICTLAW conference

At the upcoming ICTLAW conference, an invited lecture will be delivered by Goran Vojković, Full Professor at University North, who will address the important issue of responsibility and risk management in digital public administration.

The digital transformation of public administration has introduced highly structured electronic processes that enable full traceability of every step in administrative procedures. While such systems significantly improve formal compliance and transparency, they also reveal a less visible issue: the fact that every action is recorded does not necessarily mean that responsibility for managing processes, compliance, and legal risks is clearly defined.
