TESLA'S BEACON OF KNOWLEDGE

The MIPRO ICT Award "Tesla's Beacon of Knowledge" is a prestigious award presented by the MIPRO Croatian Society for innovative and most influential achievements in the field of information and communication technologies. The award is presented to individuals and legal entities for achievements that have demonstrated a clearly measurable contribution to the development of ICT, opening up new opportunities and encouraging technological and economic breakthroughs in the last four years.

The award was first presented in 2023 and is awarded in four categories: individual, academy, economy and project. There is also the possibility of a special recognition for the exceptional global success of prominent scientists or businessmen, which is awarded out of competition.

The award consists of a ceremonial charter and an artistically designed statue of the "Beacon of Knowledge", made using the 3D printing technique. The statue symbolizes Tesla's first demonstration of a rotating magnetic field - the moment that began the development of modern distributed systems and technological progress as we know it today.

The award is presented at the opening of the international ICT and Electronics convention MIPRO, one of the most important regional events dedicated to technology, innovation and the development of the digital society.
