The World Future Verse (WFV) conference in Bled, organised by the Ljubljana Technology Park in cooperation with MIPRO and other partners as part of the European Blockchain Week 2022 was successfully held.

The conference discussed the most current topics: Metaverse, NFT, Internet 3.0 and Blockchain technologies, which are also technologies for successful business in the future and understanding marketing and new business opportunities.

The World Future Verse Conference brought together more than 400 participants, including executives and creative visionaries from various industries. At one of the round tables, Prof. Karolj Skala presented the DAP project on the application of Blockchain technology for a new way of valorizing and reviewing scientific papers.  Živimo u vrijeme velikih pragmatičnih razvoja i promjena. Osvješćuje se tehnička civilizacija preko ICT-a i drigih tehnologija u smjeru stvaranja uvjeta za održivi razvoj i život na zemlji.

ICT u svim tematskim segmentima je obuhvaćen kroz 15 savjetovanja. Sa posebnim tematskim fokusom smo pokrenuli savjetovanje pod nazivom “Pametna industrija i digitalni ekosustavi /SIDE”. Istaknuta tema se favorizira i nastupom direktora European Institute of Innovation and Technology- EIT Digital.Želi se istaći i ukazati na najvažnije tehnoploške iskorake koje vode prema eri; inteligentnog (Smart), zelenog (Green)i human-centričnog razvoja (HCD) u gospodarstvu ali i društvu u cjelini.

MIPRO je već 45 godina zaredom najveći međunarodni nekomercijalni tehnološki skup u ovom dijelu Europe na kojem sudjeluje preko tisuću sudionika iz četrdesetak zemalja. MIPRO kroz svoje tradicionalne znanstvene i tehnološke ICT skupove sustavno razvija svijest i povezuje dionike o značaju visokih tehnologija u razvoju gospodarstva i društva u cijelosti. Ima znanstvenu, tehnološku, gospodarsku, obrazovnu stranu povezujući ih u cjelinu koja osigurava sinergijske učinke razvoja inovativnog društva (EU Innovation Union).

Take a chance and submit your scientific and professional papers at the 45^th Jubilee International ICT Convention MIPRO 2022, technically co-sponsored by IEEE Region 8, that will take place from 23 to 27 May 2022.

Papers can be submitted to one of the 16 conferences. 

Abstract submission deadline is 31 January 2022 (except for new SIDE conference - deadline: 7 February).

In cooperation with Deutsche Telekom, Hrvatski Telekom has ensured that Croatian customers in Germany and German customers in Croatia can now use the benefits of a 5G network.

The move to handling essential elements of everyday life online, prompted by the Global Covid-19 pandemic, will remain a fundamental reality for people around the world long after the pandemic has passed, a comprehensive new consumer report called The Future Urban Reality by Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) predicts.

The world's largest chemical company BASF decided this year to support the startup ideas of young innovators from the region, including young innovators, especially students from from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The BASF Innovation Hub 2021 competition will focus on ideas that contribute to clean technologies and innovations aimed at improving environmental sustainability.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has launched Ericsson Private 5G. It offers secure and simple 4G LTE and 5G Standalone (SA) connectivity primarily targeting – but not limited to – manufacturing, mining and process industry, offshore and power utilities, as well as ports and airports.

The 2nd Trebinje Energy Summit – SET, held in Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was concluded on the 21st of May. It is the leading business event in the region dealing with the topic of the future of energy and sustainability of energy production.

It is a business event which brought together a large number of experts, scientists and representatives of power companies and manufacturers of equipment and power facilities. KONČAR was its silver sponsor. 

In the context of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and the Embassy of Portugal in Zagreb are co-organizing the event "Robotics and AI in Society: Impacts and Questions Raised".

Hrvatski Telekom continues to introduce a commercial 5G network throughout Croatia. From March 17th the 5G signal is available in ten new towns: Dugo Selo, Karlovac, Krapina, Nin, Poreč, Rovinj, Slavonski Brod, Umag, Velika Gorica, and Zadar, which means that 5G signal covers 34 Croatian cities and towns and 1.5 million inhabitants of Croatia.
