Title: Chest Image Analysis Methods for COVID19 Disease Severity Assessment
Duration: 15 min.
Abstract: Multiple clinical studies regarding COVID19 disease indicate that chest imaging may play a vital role in reinforcing the diagnosis and assessing and recognizing complications in disease progression. The development of computer-aided algorithms for imaging analysis based on CT and X-ray chest images automates and reduces the time needed for their inspection. Those methods can provide a categorization of positive and non-positive patients, as well as extraction and analysis of important imaging features regarding COVID-19 disease. There is also a need for the development of the new screening protocols for the healthcare organizations that will allow cheap monitoring and prevention of the intra-hospital spreading of the disease. Therefore, investigation of low-cost portable ultrasound devices for early detection and prevention of intra-hospital transmission of COVID-19 disease and implementation of the software platform for the protocol will be explored as well.
