MIPRO ICT Award “Tesla’s Beacon of Knowledge” 2026 winners have been chosen

We are pleased to announce the winners of the prestigious MIPRO ICT Award “Tesla’s Beacon of Knowledge” 2026, presented for outstanding contributions to the development of information and communication technologies, science, and the economy on a global scale.

 

MIPRO ICT Award “Tesla’s Beacon of Knowledge” 2026

The Award Committee for the year 2025 consisting of Krešo Antonović, Nina Begičević Ređep, Alojzije Jukić, Vedran Mornar, Nedjeljko Perić, Karolj Skala, Velimir Srića, Ivan Vidaković, Slavko Vidović decided to award the award in two categories:

 

ACADEMY CATEGORY

John M. Martinis

- one of the world’s leading physicists and a pioneer in quantum computing. Together with John Clarke and Michel Devoret, Martinis was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2025 for their joint work on macroscopic quantum phenomena in superconductors. His work on the development of superconducting quantum bits (qubits) and the demonstration of quantum functionality has laid the foundation for a new generation of computing systems with the potential to transform science, industry, and society. His contributions represent the pinnacle of scientific excellence and serve as a strong inspiration to the global research community.

The MIPRO ICT Award Tesla’s Beacon of Knowledge symbolizes the light of knowledge, innovation, and vision for the future, inspired by the legacy of Nikola Tesla. It is awarded to individuals and organizations whose work pushes the boundaries of the ICT sector and is increasingly recognized as the “Oscars” of ICT achievements.
 

The award ceremony will take place as part of the MIPRO Convention 2026 on May 27, 2026, in Opatija.
